RELIEVED parents are raising money for the hospital unit that cared for their son when he was born nine weeks premature.

Grateful mum and dad Mathew Richards, 22, and Lauren Collins, 21, from Long Close Lane, York, are hosting Freddy’s Easter Eggstravaganza at the Magnet pub, in Osbaldwick Lane, on Easter Sunday, from noon to 3pm.

Little Freddy, who turns one-year-old on April 19, spent weeks in York Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit before he was well enough to go home.

Lauren, who works at Harpers Fish and Chips in Hull Road, went to hospital after a 12-hour shift because she had stopped feeling the baby’s movements and was told she would have to give birth immediately.
