POLICE are investigating an alleged sexual assault at a bar in York. Officers were called to a premises in New Street, between Davygate and Coney Street, late on Monday, to reports of a sexual assault, they confirmed yesterday. A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said: "Police were contacted at 11.10pm on Monday, January 2, regarding a report of an alleged sexual assault, occurring at a premises on New Street, York. A man from York has been arrested. He currently remains on police bail whilst investigations are ongoing."
