A MAN who played music so loudly it made his neighbour's floor vibrate has been evicted from his council house.

Sean Harman, 37, of Bishophill Junior, was convicted of breaching a noise abatement notice in July at York Magistrates' Court and has been evicted after causing neighbour's months of distress.

City of York Council enforcement officers heard songs including "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Smack My B**** Up" played so loudly they made a neighbour's floor vibrate.

Officers were able to seize a CD player and speakers from the address after hearing the deafening levels from the neighbour's home.

Harman was fined £660, and magistrates ordered him to pay costs of £760 and to pay a victim surcharge of £66.

The possession order allowed the council to end Harman’s council tenancy for having breached its terms by engaging in anti-social behaviour, nuisance and criminal activity.
