A FLOWER show is set to help visitors identify which plants could make them ill in a bid to avoid hospital admissions.

Hundreds of people go to hospital every year, and thousands more are treated for illness or injury involving plants. A new feature at the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show, from September 16 to 18, will help visitors understand which plants they should handle with care, enabling them to enjoy the beauty of their garden without falling foul of a beast.

The display is part of a new autumn show attraction called, The Dark Side, which explores horticulture’s twilight zone from the weird and wonderful world of carnivorous plants to top tips for creating the perfect evening oasis. Tickets cost £17.50 on Friday and Saturday and £16 on Sunday. Under 16s free when accompanied by an adult. Visit flowershow.org.uk.
