RESIDENTS are being asked to have their say over rural crime at an event at the Great Yorkshire Show.
Police and Crime Commissioner, Julia Mulligan, set up a new rural task force in North Yorkshire to fight crime in the countryside and reassure residents after research revealed many offences were not being reported.
It’s the biggest task forcce of its kind in England, and follows concerns householders in rural areas are less satisfied with the police than in towns.
To give people a chance to have their say Mrs Mulligan is holding a breakfast briefing at the show on Tuesday, July 12. Visitors will be able to ask about fair funding and Acting Assistant Chief Constable Amanda Oliver will be there to find out what rural householders and businesses want.
