THREE of the women from the record-breaking Yorkshire Rows will be taking on their next challenge in their pyjamas.

They have signed up to take part in St Leonard’s Hospice Midnight Walk in York on June 4.

The Yorkshire Rows team completed the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge by rowing 3,000 miles non-stop for two months - setting a new world record as the oldest all-female crew to row across an ocean.

Now Frances Davies, Helen Butters and Niki Doeg from the team will join hundreds of others for the all-women walk which offers a five or ten-mile route around the city and which this year is themed as a pyjama party.

Hospice fundraiser Nik Turnbull said “We followed the progress of the Yorkshire Rows during their amazing feat of endurance, so we are delighted to welcome the ladies onto the walk.

“Their story has inspired and motivated many others. We’re sure they’ll enjoy the great atmosphere on the night and hopefully it will be a bit easier than rowing the Atlantic.”
