A WOMAN is recovering after being subjected to a serious sexual attack in the early hours of the morning.
The woman, in her 20s was assaulted at about 2am to 2.30am on Sunday, on Haxby Road in York at its junction with Kitchener Street.
Her attacker was a man in his early thirties, with a bald head, stubble on his face and wearing a dark coloured shirt or top.
His victim, a local woman, is now being supported by specialist officers and police are now appealing for witnesses and information.
Anyone who was in the area of Haxby and Kitchener Road between the hours of 1.30am and 2.30am is asked to contact police. Dial 101, press two and ask to speak to York Serious Crime Team.
