AN elderly couple and a woman escaped uninjured from a crash which saw their cars plunge into a woodland ditch and a garden hedge.
North Yorkshire Police said the incident happened at 9.55am on Tuesday, at the junction of High Moor Lane and Moor Lane, between Shipton by Beningborough, Tollerton and Newton on Ouse, in North Yorkshire.
A police spokesman said: "Although both cars ended up off the road and embedded in hedges, the occupants were all uninjured."
Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics attended the scene and treated the cars' occupants for shock.
It is understood the road was unusually busy due to Chapman's Lane, the road linking High Moor Lane to the A19, being closed to allow work on the bridge over the East Coast Mainline.
Witnesses are urged to call police on 101.
