POLICE are trying to trace the rightful owner of a distinctive gold ring recovered during a burglary investigation.
Officers suspect that the ring, which was found in the Leeds area, has been stolen from the Harrogate or Ripon area.
They have issued photographs of the ring and are appealing to anyone who recognises it as theirs, to contact them.
PC Mark Weir of Harrogate Investigation Hub, said: "The ring is quite distinctive and comprises of a gold band with a weaved or plaited design on the top.
“It's important that we trace the owner as their information could assist our enquiries. If you believe the ring is yours, please get in touch."
Anyone with information should call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for PC Mark Weir.
