POLICE are appealing for information following an assault in the Champagne Bar at York Races.

The incident happened at around 5.15pm on Thursday, August 20 when the victim, a 20-year-old man, was punched in the face and suffered bruising to his mouth.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information about it is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police.
