HEARTLESS thieves broke into a seasonal tourist attraction and stole the contents of charity boxes as well as equipment.
The raiders at York Maze emptied the collection boxes – containing cash destined for a children cancer charity – of hundreds of pounds.
They also stole slushie machines, leaf blowers and seam cleaners , taking the value of their haul up to £10,000
Owner Tom Pearcy said: "It's bad enough they stole things we have worked hard to buy, but stealing the money people have been donating to a children's cancer charity is just sick.
"If anyone can help the police find the people who did this, we would really appreciate it."
The raid took place sometime between 7pm on Monday and 7am on Tuesday and anyone with information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
