A WOMAN was brought to safety after threatening to jump from the roof of a building in the centre of York.
The woman was on top of Stonebow House when she was spotted by a member of the public at lunchtime on Friday.
St Saviourgate, which runs behind the building, was blocked off by police, as was the Stonebow entrance.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police received a call at around 12.30pm today with reports that a woman was on the roof of Stonebow House in York.
“Emergency Services attended and the woman was brought to safety at around 2.20pm.”
The police cordons were removed at about 2.45pm.
