HEADING to the Great Yorkshire Show on Wednesday? Here's five things not to miss out on.
1. Elite pole climbers from around Britain will be racing up 80ft-high wooden poles in the forestry area.
They will be in pursuit of the show’s six-year-old record of 9.57 seconds.
2. The Shetland Pony Grand National competition will be taking place each day in the main ring.
3. The grand cattle parade takes place in the ring at 2pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
4. Speedy ferrets Wiggo, Cav and Froome will be taking part in the Tour de Ferrets on their own racing track at 2pm on Wednesday at the Welcome to Yorkshire stand.
5. Sheep shearers from Iceland will, be at the show for the first time, competing against local shearers and others from New Zealand and Australia
