POLICE are appealing for help to find an 84-year-old man missing from home.
John Symington was last seen getting off a coach at the Breezy Knees Nurseries in Warthill, a village between Easingwold and York, near Stockton-on-the-Forest, at 3.45pm on Wednesday afternoon.
He failed to return to the coach and police were alerted.
Mr Symington, who is from Dundee, Scotland, is described as white, about 6ft, slim build, with a fair complexion and receding white hair which is curly at the back.
He is wearing a brown jacket, grey trousers and carrying a white knitted bag.
Extensive searches involving specially trained police officers, search and rescue and the police helicopter, have so far failed to locate Mr Symington.
The search effort resumed at 4.30am.
Inspector Mark Henderson, from the Force Control Room, said "We are becoming increasingly concerned for the safety of Mr Symington and ask the public to be on the lookout for him or any possible sightings since Wednesday afternoon."
Anyone with information should call North Yorkshire Police on 101.
