POLICE are hunting a motorist who tried to lure a young teenage girl into his car in the early hours of the morning.
The 13-year-old was walking along Tang Hall Lane in York at around 5.30am on Tuesday, April 28, when the man cruised by in a silver-grey Ford estate.
He tried to verbally entice the girl into his car - but drove off when the girl threatened to scream.
He was of oriental appearance, with a skinny build, and aged between 25 to 30 years, with brown toned skin and short black hair. He is believed to have been wearing a navy blue jumper with a ribbed neck, and black/ blue jeans.
It is known the car drove up and down Tang Hall Lane for several minutes so it may have been noticed by residents or other motorists.
Police are asking anyone who was walking or driving in the area at the time of to get in touch.
In particular they want to speak to a man was walking his dog, and a woman walking alone, who were both seen along Tang Hall Lane at around the time.
