A charity which saves dogs from death is holding a photo competition to find the happiest and the naughtiest dogs.

Saving Yorkshire’s Dogs, SYD which operates in the Hambleton and Harrogate districts works with vets and rescue groups to take on dogs which are in danger of being put down.

One of their major fund raising events is the competition and they have recruited the help of two professional photographers to judge and take photographs of the winning dogs.

Organiser Julie Hart said:”Photographers Jenny Prest and Lucy White are offering to do a photoshoot of the winning dogs, what proud owner wouldn’t want that, a professional momento of their beloved pet.

“There are two categories, “Happy” or “Up to no good”, to enter people pay £2 and send in their photographs which sadly we won’t be able to send back or they can email us.”

The competition ends on April 24 and the results will be announced at the Chantry Hall in Bedale by Mayor Christine Mollard when SYD are holding a coffee morning, craft and jumble sale from 9.30pm to 2pm.

Entries can be sent to Julie at 3 Exelby Close, Exelby, Bedale, DL8 2JT or email julie.hart@sydrescue.org.uk .
