POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was robbed by a gang as he walked in the early hours of the morning.
The 40-year-old victim was walking along Lawrence Street in York at about 4am on March 29, a Sunday, when he was attacked.
He was first approached by a teenage girl who engaged him in conversation before assaulting him.
A group of other people, believed to be men, then attacked the victim from behind, kicking and punching him, before stealing his phone, wallet and other personal items.
The victim sustained cuts and bruises during the incident and was left badly shaken.
