LOVING couple Tom Douch and Jemma Holmes wanted a pictorial record of their engagement – and ended up with a piscatorial one.

They travelled to the Sea Life Centre in Scarborough to have their pictures taken in their favourite environment.

The couple, from Strensall, near York, met when both were stationed at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire with Tom proposing last autumn while they were holidaying in Portugal.

And when they started laying plans for their wedding next December Jemma decided to contact Nottinghamshire-based photographer Ed Godden after seeing his work on Facebook.

He suggested an “engagement shoot” to prepare them all for the big day - and the result was a stunning souvenir of a memorable day at the attraction in Scarborough.

“The first place Tom and I visited when we moved to York was Scarborough Sea Life Centre,” said 26-year-old Jemma, who is now a technician with the Food Environment Research Agency.

“We both love fish and plan to visit every Sea Life centre in the UK, but Scarborough seemed the perfect choice for our photo’ assignment.”

Tom, 25, is originally from Dalby Forest near Pickering and joined the RAF in 2011, later than he had originally planned after being hit by a car when he was 16 and spending months recovering in Scarborough Hospital. He is now based at RAF Linton on Ouse.
