PEOPLE are invited to become involved in a farm heritage project and record some of the history of the Yorkshire Dales.

A drop-in workshop will be running this weekend which aims to show people how they can work alongside existing volunteers in the Upper Nidderdale Landscape Partnership scheme, which runs until 2018.

The workshop will show people how they can get involved in the scheme’s Our Farm Heritage Project and try their hand at archaeological surveying, research and identifying unusual landscape features.

The event will take place on Saturday (March 7) between 10am and 1pm in the council chamber of The Old Workhouse in Pateley Bridge.

The Iron Age Nidderdale Community Archaeology Group and Historic Nidderdale project officers will be there to talk to between 10am and 1pm.

Historic Nidderdale project officer Louise Brown said: “This is a really exciting opportunity to work alongside existing volunteers to discover and record Nidderdale’s rich heritage; no previous experience is needed, just enthusiasm.”
