A MAN has been released on bail after he was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the B6265 at Great Ouseburn, near Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, just before 6pm on Thursday, February 5, involving a yellow Fiat Panda and a red tractor.

A man in his 70s, from Boroughbridge, was killed in the crash after the vehicles collided head-on, and a woman passenger, also in her 70s and from Boroughbridge, was taken to hospital for a check-up.

The tractor driver, a 33-year-old man from Leeds, was uninjured and arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been released on bail while the investigation continues.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw either the vehicles prior to the crash, who was on the B6265 from 4pm onwards, or who witnessed the incident to contact them.
