POLICE were called to check on a man who thought he had climbed into his own car to sleep.
A man in his twenties, who had been out celebrating in York, climbed into what he thought was his vehicle in the early hours to have a nap, but the car, parked on Castlegate, actually belonged to someone else.
Officers in York were called to check on the vehicle containing the New Year’s reveller.
According to a spokesman for the police, when they arrived he told them he realised the car did not belong to him, but said he remembered climbing in through the boot.
The car owner was called and it was confirmed the car had not been damaged.
