A MAN has died after falling from the ancient walls of York.
The 50-year-old man suffered a serious head injury when he fell from a bridge on the walls near Micklegate Bar on Thursday morning.
Police have confirmed he has since died and although the man's family are aware of his death, but officers say they are not yet in a position to release his name.
A police spokesman said: "There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and nobody else is being sought in connection with the incident."
A file is being prepared for the coroner, he added.
