TWO more men have appeared in court today (Wednesday October 15), in connection with the death of 21-year-old Sam Wilson last weekend.

Robbie Mark McHale, 19, and Jack David Alexander, 20, appeared before York Magistrates' Court, each charged with one count of manslaughter.

Mr Wilson, of Haxby, was hit by a taxi shortly after a violent incident in Haxby Road, close to the Nuffield Hospital, York, in the early hours of Saturday morning and died at the scene.

Alexander, of Fox Covert, Huntington, was remanded in custody until October 27, when he is due to appear before York Crown Court.

McHale, of Fifth Avenue, York, was remanded in custody ahead of a bail hearing before Leeds Crown Court, which is due to take place by Friday.

A third man, Linden Lee Smith, 20, of Kirkham Avenue, Bell Farm, has also been charged with manslaughter over Mr Wilson's death.

He was granted conditional bail by magistrates on Monday, and is also due to appear before York Crown Court on Monday, October 27.
