YORK Central’s Labour MP Hugh Bayley has tabled an early day motion in the House of Commons recognising the achievement of York in celebrating ten years of being a Fairtrade city. He praised the commitment of the York Fair Trade Forum and the role played by local shops, schools, businesses and universities in achieving the status.
Hotel plan: Plans for a 50-bedroom hotel and service station next to the A64 at Hopgrove, on the edge of York, have been submitted. A decision is expected in the summer.
