A MAN had to be airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after falling from a bridge in one o the region’s leading resorts last night.
The man, who has not been named, fell from the Spa Bridge in Scarborough just after 7pm on Tuesday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the man was treated on the spot by paramedics before being airlifted to hospital.
Roads around the area were closed during the incident and local diversions were put in place while the public was asked to avoid the area.
A police spokesman said: “We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
Witnesses or anyone with information that could assist the investigation are asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1two and speak to the force control room.
