CIGARETTES and tobacco worth £2,000 were stolen when a service station was burgled.

Two offenders broke into Hinderwell Service Station in the village of Hinderwell, near Runswick Bay, by smashing one of the large front windows.

The same vehicle was then seen travelling on the A174 towards Whitby.
