A PARTY of sea anglers had to be rescued this afternoon by the RNLI when they got into difficulty off the coast near Staithes.
The party of five had been fishing off Boulby Cliffs between Skinningrove and Staithes when their boat’s propeller became tangled up in a rope.
A rescue boat from Staithes and Runswick RNLI lifeboat was quickly launched and its volunteers managed to tow the fishing boat back into Staithes Harbour within 45 minutes. Once the boat had been brought safely ashore, the anglers disembarked.
