SEAFOOD from the Yorkshire coast and game from the North York Moors will feature in a harvest food festival.

Malton Harvest Food Festival takes place on Saturday, September 9 and will celebrate the best of the region’s seasonal food.

There will be a programme of events and activities included free pirate-themed theatrical workshops delivered by Malton-based theme party specialists Magical Quests. As well as plenty to eat and drink there will also be talks, tastings, live music and cooking demos from renowned local chefs including The Talbot Hotel’s Dan Graham and Peter Neville from The Pheasant Hotel who will both be in attendance showing off their culinary skills.

At the heart of the festival is the Producer’s Market with over 80 food and drink stalls. The streets will be lined by local buskers and in the evening, Malton based Brass Castle Brewery, gin producers Sloemotion and cider specialists Orchards of Husthwaite will be hosting the festival bar with an accompanying selection of the region’s best street food vans.

The Harvest Food Festival specialises in locally caught seafood from Yorkshire’s coastline, along with game from the North York Moors all available in the newly created Game and Seafood Court. There will also be find butchery and cooking demos in the Taste of Game demo kitchen. Malton’s annual Harvest Food Festival is the sister festival to Malton Food Lovers Festival which welcomed tens of thousands of food lovers and special guests Levi Roots and Prue Leith to the North Yorkshire market town back in May.
