AN aircraft had to make an emergency landing in a field in North Yorkshire after it experienced mechanical problems.
The pilot, aged 67, and a 12-year-old boy were on board the light aircraft that came down in a field near Dunsley Hall, a country house hotel near Whitby.
It is understood that the aircraft was on a sight-seeing expedition from Fishburn, County Durham.
A police spokesman said: "Tees Valley Air Traffic Control contacted us at 12.48pm on Thursday to report a light aircraft had made an emergency landing in a field near Dunsley Hall on the outskirts of Whitby.
"Neither occupant were injured and the aircraft undamaged.
"The pilot is making arrangements for the aircraft to be repaired and recovered."
