FIRE crews have had to cut a seven-year-old child out of handcuffs.
The youngster called in at the fire station in Scarborough just before 8pm on Thursday and a crew released him using a hacksaw.
A spokesman said there was no information on how or why the boy came to be handcuffed.
He said in cases where the cuffed person is not a child, or the handcuffs were not novelty items, it was normal to contact police before releasing the person.
- Firefighters were also called to Selby at 9.55pm where a child was stuck in a tree but discovered on arrival he was not stuck - just reluctant to get down. “We assisted with manpower,” said the spokesman.
