A COASTAL village has been named as one of the top destinations for a dog-friendly day out.
Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire has featured in a compilation of “20 great days out for you and your dog” put together for The Times’ Weekend supplement.
The historic fishing village featured in a guide to the best canine-friendly National Trust estates in the UK.
The feature stated: “Explore this beautiful coastline, where dogs can investigate driftwood along the beach and go for a splash in the sea.
“A two-mile walk from Ravenscar visitor centre takes in bluebell woods and farm tracks, and Robin Hood’s Bay is the perfect spot for a game of fetch.”
Top of the list, which ranked Robin Hood’s Bay at 16, was Trelissick House and Gardens in Truro, Cornwall.
Also to feature was Wallington house and gardens in Morpeth, Northumberland, which owners and dogs on leads are free to explore.
The estate includes open moorland, wooded streams and lakes. The Clocktower Café also has plenty of outdoor seating and water bowls and sells homemade dog treats.
