WHITBY Goth Weekend is set to bring some dark glamour to the coastal town this weekend as its famous festival attracts visitors from across the globe.

Customised gothic cars, live music, fairs and markets will all feature in this weekend’s event, which welcomes punks, emos, bikers, steampunks and fans of other alternative music and fashion.

The biannual event officially begins tomorrow (Friday, November 4) when Heaven 17, Manuskript and Kitty in a Casket will be performing and DJs will be providing industrial and electro music.

The following day The Mission, Skeletal Family and Chasing Dragons perform. There will also be a Whitby Kustom Goths and Gasoline event between 9am and 3pm at Westcliff School, when there will be a range of gothic customised cars including Cadillacs.

Several fringe events were due to take place tonight (Thursday, November 3) with live bands performing at Abbey Wharf in aid of Whitby RNLI and a community fireworks display at Whitby Rugby Club.

Throughout the weekend there will also be stalls, fundraising events and other entertainment.
