BURGLARS fled at high speed after being disturbed during a raid on an outbuilding at Staithes, near Whitby.
The raid happened on Whitegate Close, Staithes at 1.35am on July 13 and involved the theft of tools and copper from an outbuilding by three men using a dark coloured car, possibly a Ford Fiesta.
After they were disturbed they drove off at speed towards towards Boulby Mine, with the boot lid still open.
Police are appealing for anyone who awe anything or has any information about the incident to contact them.
They also appealing for any information to the whereabouts of black storage boxes stamped with Royal Mail and British Gas that were stolen during the incident. These boxes may have been discarded after the vehicle left the Staithes area.
