FOUR men are being hunted by police after they stole a motorbike and then fled with their haul hanging from the boot of their car.

The incident happened at Stakesby Vale, Whitby, at around 7.20pm around three weeks ago on March 8.

Four men in a dark coloured car approached a green Kawasaki KMX-125 motorcycle parked near to Beevers carpet store on Stakesby Vale.

The four men picked up the motorcycle and placed it into the boot of the car before driving away through the tunnel onto South End Gardens.

They were distinctive as the motorbike was hanging out of the boot and the boot lid was not closed when the car drove away.

“We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public's assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” said a police spokesman.

“In particular, we are appealing for any witnesses who saw the bike being stolen, saw the dark coloured car travelling with the motorcycle hanging out of the boot or have any information in relation to the identity of the males or whereabouts of the motorcycle.”
