VETERAN author, TV and radio broadcaster Melvyn Bragg will be the headline guest at this year’s Scarborough book festival.
The full line-up for Boom by the Beach has still to be announced but organisers have now confirmed that Baron Bragg will be at the Spa on April 15.
Festival co-director Peter Guttridge said: “This event will be about Melvyn Bragg the author.
“He has done such an extraordinary job championing culture over the years - particularly on television’s South Bank Show and BBC radio’s In Our Time, but also in the House of Lords since his ennoblement in 1998 – that his novel writing has often been overlooked.”

Tickets for all other festival events will be on sale early February at the Stephen Joseph Theatre.
