FEARS are rising for the safety of a teenage girl who disappeared from her home earlier this week.

Zara Surrayah Dunbar, 16, was last seen in the Falsgrave Road area of her hometown of Scarborough at about 7.30pm on Monday, March 9.

Police fear she could be vulnerable due to her young age and are concerned that she has no access to money. Although she has a mobile phone it has been switched off.

Zara is described as of medium build and 5ft 3in tall. She has a fair complexion, green eyes, and shoulder-length dyed blonde hair which she sometimes wears in a ponytail. He natural hair colour is brown.

When last seen, she was wearing a peach and black quilted jacket, light blue jeans, white trainers, and was carrying a large brown holdall bag.

PC John Fawcett said active searches were currently taking place in the Scarborough area and appealed for anyone with information to contact the police.

He added: “Zara, if you see or hear this appeal yourself, it is very important that you get in touch and let the police know you have not come to any harm. We just need to know you are safe.”
