A YOUNG film-maker from North Yorkshire is making headway in the highly-competitive movie industry.

Producer Nina Kastner, 22, from Whitby, has been nominated for three prestigious awards at Screentest, the UK’s largest student film festival.

She and her film Howl have been nominated in the thriller horror, best screenplay and best film categories. She produced the film during her third year of studying film production.

Screentest, this year celebrating its 10th anniversary, is the UK’s largest and foremost student film festival. Held at London South Bank University it acts as a platform for aspiring filmmakers to showcase their talent.

Ms Kastner said: “We are delighted about our nominations - especially to be selected for three different categories. We're extremely excited to attend the festival.”

The film will be showcased at Screentest which runs from March 21 to 23.
