A FAMILY-run company is creating a dozen new jobs thanks to winning a contract with a major developer.
The Biker Group, based in Leyburn and Thirsk, will carry out the ground works at Taylor Wimpey’s new 119-home development at Harlow Green in Harrogate.
It will complete the foundations, drainage, concrete finishing, hard landscaping and paving.
The company’s ground works manager David Phipps said: “Taylor Wimpey is a long-standing client and we are delighted to start the next project in our association.”
Biker Group’s expansion over the last four years has seen the firm increase its workforce to nearly 200 and report a 133 per cent increase in annual turnover.
The company was established nearly 50 years ago by company chairman Tony Biker, who has been joined in the business by sons Matthew, Ben and Sam.
