RESIDENTS at a North Yorkshire holiday park are getting set to join in this year’s Tour de Yorkshire action as some of the top cyclists in the world race past the site for the first time.

Family-run York House Holiday Park is organising an 18-mile bike ride of its own on Saturday.

Cyclists can go along to the ride which starts at the park near Thirsk at 10am, and takes a route through the North York Moors passing through Dalton, Topcliffe, Busby Stoop, Thirsk and Sowerby plus a pit-stop for refreshments.

Later in the day, residents will be supporting the professional cyclists in the Tour de Yorkshire as they undertake Stage 3 of the race.

Manager of York House John Reay said: “We’re delighted this year’s Tour de Yorkshire will be just a stone’s throw from our holiday park.

He added: “There is always a great atmosphere on race day as we celebrate this colourful event in the Yorkshire calendar.”

“This year will be extra special as we welcome the world’s leading cyclists to our beautiful part of Yorkshire.”
