SNOW has fallen in parts of the region - and more may fall tonight.
A county council webcam on the A170 at Sutton Bank near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, showed a snow shower falling at 4pm, although the road remained passable.
The Met Office says it will remain windy in York and North Yorkshire tonight with scattered sleet and snow showers and a risk of icy stretches.
Forecasters said showers may merge into a longer spell of sleet or snow for a time.
More wintry showers and sunny spells are expected tomorrow before heavy rain and windy weather arrives tomorrow night, possibly preceded by sleet or snow.
Snow also fell across the North Pennines.
