THE future of the former Lambert Hospital in Thirsk remains under the spotlight as council and health officials meet for talks.

Hambleton District Council and North Yorkshire County Council officials met with health counterparts to discuss the future of the former hospital building.

The councils have joined with the local CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) to look at possible uses for the building which has been empty for over two years.

The Chapel Street site is owned by NHS Property Services.

Hambleton Council leader Mark Robson, said that an initial meeting between the two councils, the CCG and NHS Property Services on Wednesday had proved useful and that a further meeting will be called at the end of January to review the position following further feasibility work.
