A VILLAGE inn has launched a local fundraising campaign to buy a life-saving defibrillator for the community.
The Carpenters Arms at Felixkirk, near Thirsk, needs to raise £2,000 to cover the cost of buying the life-saving machine and its on-going maintenance.
The pub is working with Yorkshire-based charity Heartbeat of Sport which will supply the defibrillator and provide training for any locals who want it.
Pub manager Stephanie Plant said: “Being in a very rural area we are conscious that having a defibrillator in the village could mean the difference between life and death if someone suffers a heart attack."
- The fundraising campaign is being launched with a prize draw and buffet at the pub on November 21.
- Tickets for the draw are on already sale and tickets for the event are available by ringing 01845-537369.
