POLICE are urging homeowners to be vigilant about security and to keep their eyes peeled for suspicious activity following several burglaries.
North Yorkshire Police have received three reports of house burglaries in Great Ayton over the last week.
They took place on School Lane, Station Road and Guisborough Road.
Two burglaries also took place at Ainderby Road, Northallerton, sometime between Sunday, October 22 and Tuesday, October 24.
A full investigation into the incidents have been launched and house-to-house enquires will be carried out in Northallerton.
CCTV opportunities are also being explored.
The police would like to reassure the community that they are working to identify those responsible and appeal to anyone with information to contact them on 101.
