A FAMILY-RUN farm boasting a harvest of around 10,000 pumpkins is opening its gates for a Halloween-themed event.
Church Farm, at Sessay, near Thirsk, is hosting pick-your-own pumpkin sessions, which will see the orange fruits carved, bowled and painted, alongside a bale maze and face painting.
Farmer Tom Spilman said: “This is the first time we have held anything like this, but we wanted to take advantage of the fact Halloween is becoming more and more popular.
“With it being held on a farm we are running trailer rides and spooky tours which will be great for the kids.
“This type of event is not very common, but we thought we would give it a go and try and diversify.”
The event will run from October 20 to 31, from 10am until 4pm. For details, call 01845-501623 or visit spilmanfarming.co.uk
