A CYCLIST injured in a crash with a car last week has died in hospital, it has been confirmed.
The 56-year-old woman suffered serious injuries when her bicycle was in a collision with a car on the A168 at Thornton-le-Street, near Thirsk.
After the incident last Tuesday she was taken to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, where medics today confirmed she had died.
Police say they are not in a position to name the woman yet, but are renewing their appeal for witnesses to the crash which happened at about 9.15am on October 3.
In particular they are seeking any dash-cam footage to assist the investigation and they are also appealing for the drivers of two vehicles which overtook the cyclist prior to the collision to come forward.
