TWO football teams in Thirsk have merged to become the largest club in the town.

Thirsk Falcons Juniors and Thirsk Falcons Seniors restructured and expanded their executive committees to incorporate the changes at their last AGM.

The change makes the club the largest in Thirsk comprising junior and senior football teams and offering inclusive football to players aged three-years-old through to adults.

The club is now in the process of registering more than 20 teams for the new season, including two senior teams and a new under 17/18 team.

It also has plans to launch new sessions for girls to get into football in partnership with North Yorkshire Soccer Academy.

There are also plans to relaunch after-school disability football sessions for all ages in partnership with The Dales School.
