THREE people are wanted after a rock was thrown through the window of a parked car.

The incident happened at about 4.10am on June 12 when the driver’s window of a green Ford Ka was broken in Chapel Street, Thirsk.

The main suspect is a man caught on CCTV who appears to have come from the Castlegate direction. He ran from the scene following the incident. He was wearing a dark hooded top, tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

It is believed he may have been in the company of a man and a woman who were also seen on CCTV at around the same time.

The man was dressed in a black jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and was wearing a light-coloured baseball cap.

The woman has shoulder-length, light-coloured hair and she was wearing a red zip-up jacket, leggings and was carrying a dark-coloured handbag.

PC Matthew Balmforth said: “We have carried out detailed enquiries into this incident including searches, forensic examinations, house-to-house enquiries and a trawl through CCTV in the area.

“We hope the CCTV images that were captured on Chapel Street during the early hours of Monday 12th of June will help to identify the three people who we need to speak to in connection with the investigation.”
