AN award-winning choir will be raising their voices to help raise funds for a Thirsk church and North Yorkshire homecare scheme.
The Yorkshire Decibelles will be singing ‘A Serenade of Songs for Summer’ at All Saints Church, Great Thirkleby, on Sunday, May 14 at 6pm.
Organiser Gill Walmsley said the evening promises to be an enjoyable affair.
She said: “We are very excited to have these delightful ladies, The Yorkshire Decibelles, helping us raise funds for Herriot Hospice Homecare and All Saints, at what promises to be a most enjoyable evening.
“The choir perform all over the country but this will be a great opportunity to hear them locally.
“They have a varied repertoire, singing Tallis to Elvis, folk songs to musicals, classical and popular.”
The Yorkshire Decibelles choir was formed in 2012 and is entirely made up of North Yorkshire singers.
They perform across the country, often helping to fundraise for good causes, and were recently part of the Bristol International Jazz and Blues Festival.
Tickets for the All Saints concert are £10 including wine and nibbles.
They are available from Ms Walmsley on 01845-501353.
Tickets for any remaining seats will be available on the door but advance booking is recommended.
