THE A1M has been reopened after being blocked between the Boroughbridge and Dishforth junctions when a car suffered a tyre blowout.
North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group (RPG) dealt with the incident on the motorway earlier today, which resulted in lanes 2 and 3 on the A1(M) northbound being blocked between Junctions 48 and 49.
A silver BMW had suffered a burst tyre, causing it to spin out of control and come to rest across the outside lane. Nobody was injured in the incident. Police say the car has now been recovered and the lanes have been reopened.
Highways England had earlier warned motorists to expect delays in the area.
