ONE of the most enduring children’s books ever written will be celebrated over the half-term holiday next week.

The Courthouse in Thirsk will be turning its attention to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

For three days, local charity Rural Arts will transform it into a magical Wonderland, where there will be a whole host of Alice-themed activities taking place

From May 31 to June 2 there will be a chance for visitors to make their own “Wonderland accessory” in the mornings and attend a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the afternoon.

Director Angela Hall said: “We are so excited for our Alice in Wonderland themed week. Our half term activities are always popular and the exciting, mad world of Wonderland fits in with Rural Arts perfectly.”

Morning events from 10am to noon will cost £2 while the afternoon parties between 1pm and 3pm will be £3. To book onto the sessions visit ruralarts.org or call 01845-526536.

*Rural Arts has been running for 25 years delivering professional arts both out in the community and at its venue, the Courthouse in Thirsk.
